Victoria Zwiep has been drawing and painting since childhood. She fondly remembers winning her first award at the age of eleven. "The confidence and inspiration gained with that award was influential to my life", says the artist. Victoria has worked with a wide range of media through the years including watercolors, and oils but now works primarily in acrylics. "I love the diversity of acrylics, no matter the mood of the artist or the subject matter of the composition, the application methods offered by acrylics are virtually endless". Victoria's unique handling of this versatile media has enabled her to develop a particular, and most appealing style. It is apparent in the variety of media and materials in which Victoria works that she is just as versatile.

Victoria sculpts in clay, stone, wood, and 2 # foam. "Sculpting brings me a sense of peace and serenity, it's a form of therapy, and offers an opportunity for self-evaluation and discovery". Always in search of new materials and methods for self-expression it was inevitable that Victoria would turn her skills to carving wood, linoleum, and rubber to create finely detailed and expressive block prints. Victoria Zwiep is certainly one of those artists that exemplifies the term "Multimedia" artist.

A military wife for many years Victoria traveled throughout the United States and parts of Europe. She paints from memory and photographs, and her travels have contributed greatly to the imagery projected in her paintings. While she finds inspiration in the beauty of the landscape street scenes fascinate her. Victoria is captured and intrigued by the effect of light and shadow on the world around her.

Victoria's talent is the result of years of hard work and dedication, but her desire to expand her creativity and knowledge has induced her to return to College. She is now working toward a degree in Graphic Design Technology.
"Exploring the multitude of media, materials and their most effective use arouses my creativity and stirs my imagination".
